Garland Bruce Edwards & Aily E. Hay In 1956
Garland Bruce Edwards (1884 - 1956) and Aily E. Hay (1885 - 1969) in 1956. Garland "Bruce" is the son and fifth child of Brice Hamilton Edwards and Sarah "Sally" Hay.
Granddaughter of "Bruce" and Aily, Rhonda Edwards, writes:
This photo is very special to me. It is the only photograph that I know in existence with me and Grandpa Edwards together. We (my family) were in VA because my great grandfather (on my mother's side), John Mack Green, had died (on my 3rd birthday, 6/4/56). While in VA for his funeral, we went to visit Grandma and Grandpa Edwards. It is me leaned so comfortably against Grandpa. Seated next to him is my aunt Mavis (my mother's youngest sister...she was just about the same age as my older sister!), next to her is my older sister, Judy, and then, of course, is Grandma. Mavis often went with us when we visited Grandma and Grandpa Edwards. I guess she went to keep Judy company. Sadly, Grandpa Edwards died just 3 weeks after this picture was taken.
